iTango

iTango was an application service provider offering human resource solutions, primarily to middle market Professional Employer Organization (aka employee leasing) services.

Situation
iTango engaged EC Wise at a time when its development efforts were stymied by poor architectural choices, a process that made it difficult to respond quickly, and lack of sufficiently detailed requirements.
Challenge
iTango needed to quickly adopt and implement a scalable architecture and accelerate the flow of detailed requirements into implementable specifications. At the same time, it was necessary to retool its development team and put in place a process that would enable rapid delivery of new product features.
Resolution
EC Wise brought a multi-prong approach to revving up iTango's efforts. Functioning as CTO, EC Wise's Jack Hakim led a team that included iTango marketing and development personnel as well as EC Wise resources to produce requirements documentation at a level of detail necessary to facilitate rapid development. EC Wise created a new multi-tier software and database architecture and automated database build and data generation processes that balanced and accelerated development. As a result, iTango was able to release a next generation product in time to meet marketing and financing deadlines.
