Onrain

Onrain was a startup that built a next generation technology platform that provided expense management services for small and mid-size business. Fidesic Corporation acquired Onrain in December, 2003, and continued to rely on EC Wise for development of products and analytic solutions in the expense arena until they were acquired.

Situation
Onrain's management came to EC Wise with a business concept and a set of product requirements and needed to jumpstart product development.
Challenge
Onrain needed to quickly establish a technology foundation for Onrain's product development efforts by supporting rapid product delivery for future clients and partners who could gain leverage from an effective analytics platform.
Resolution
EC Wise designed and built on a .NET based system architecture with a data model that was deployed on a Microsoft SQL Server. The database design emphasized flexibility and scalability. To facilitate integration with existing financial management systems, EC Wise designed a web services model allowing existing applications to use the expense management platform's services in a very intuitive way. EC Wise provided Fidesic with ongoing database and analytic design and implementation, plus .NET programming services on an as needed basis.
