Design for Adaptability

Whereas it is usually possible to define fairly specific requirements for custom applications, products have to function elegantly in an incredible range of usage scenarios. Most products support a much wider range of functionality than any customer actually uses, and most enterprise products offer a wide range of configuration options such that no two organizations end up with the identical implementations.

We have a deep understanding of how to design and build such configurable products. Our designers have worked in product development at Oracle, Microsoft, Sybase, and a number of smaller ERP and analytics vendors. As a result, they think at the level of abstraction necessary to envision and design products with the flexibility necessary to win market share.

We have undertaken pure product design engagements in the Business Intelligence and enterprise lifecycle management space for Business Objects, and in the developer tool space for a variety of startups that have since been incorporated into larger vendors. We have completed design and development projects that resulted in SaaS products in the expense management, human resource, and information and referral markets.
