Project Manager
We are currently looking for implementation project managers to join a highly intelligent and experienced team capable of working in a collaborative, collegial fashion.
Responsibilities
- Manage project teams through application development, test and deployment processes.
- Perform project planning and sizing activities, identify resource requirements, and build teams capable of producing specified deliverables.
- Perform work breakdown and task identification, assign tasks to project resources, track progress on assigned tasks, and manage the assembly of completed tasks into coherent deliverables.
- Manage project execution by multiple resources in different locations.
- Establish a scope management process.
- Develop and mentor teams in establishing effective processes and practices and methodologies for ensuring quality deliverables.
- Provide client/customer support and consultation.
- Identify and communicate major milestones and risks to achieving those milestones in a positive manner.
- Establish good project metrics and success criteria across the organization.
- Prepare presentations of milestone deliverables to clients, obtain feedback and channel client feedback into development efforts.
- Help junior team members take advantage of their abilities and improve their contributions.
- Identify new business opportunities at the customer site and communicate them to account manager.
Qualifications/Requirements
- At least 5 years project management experience, which may include packaged product implementation and custom application development and implementation projects.
- At least 8 years experience in software or application development or project implementation, as an analyst, application developer, QA lead, or project manager.
- At 4 years of experience managing projects in a consulting environment.
- Familiarity with current development technologies, e.g. Java/J2EE; .NET; RDBMS platforms.
- Strong presentation and communication skills (written and oral).
- Experience managing scope and risks in client projects.
- Experience using project management tools.
- Experience developing useful project metrics and applying those metrics.
- Record of delivering projects on time and under budget.
- Ability and willingness to travel (moderate travel required).
- Ability to interact constructively with technical and business colleagues and client personnel.
- Ability and willingness to undertake whatever management, technical and administrative tasks are required to meet project objectives.
- Experience capturing and documenting project requirements and developing test plans.
